Art to Remember
This fundraising opportunity turns your child’s artwork into holiday gifts while supporting the HBS art program. Information is sent home in October of every year.
The Book Fair occurs twice a year in the fall and winter. It is a fundraiser to support HBSPA events and programs. All students will visit the book fair with his/her class. The book fair will also have evening hours available during Pizza Night and Family Reading Night. Volunteers can sign up here. We are looking for a co-chair for the 2017-2018 school year, if you are interested please email email@example.com.
Please submit all box tops in a baggy or on the monthly collection form, be sure to label it with your child’s classroom. Each box top we collect earns us $0.10 which adds up to hundreds of dollars a year. The top 3 classrooms who earn the most Box Tops will win a popsicle party in the spring. The HBSPA set up a virtual carpool form so families can have access to other families near them who may be interested in arranging a carpool. If you are interested in accessing the list, please submit your information below. In order to preserve privacy, this list is only available to HBS families who submit their information and not available to the general HBS community.

We earn 1% of the total on every receipt families submit to the bin in the main office. This amounts to hundreds of dollars every year. Please save those Eastside Marketplace receipts!
Eat the Rainbow
The Health & Wellness Committee, in conjunction with the school nurse and Eat Healthy RI sponsors an opportunity for HBS students to try a variety of different healthy fruits and vegetables. Parent volunteers are needed for this event that takes place during lunch in the spring.
An annual HBS community event, Fall Fest offers games, bounce houses, activties, crafts, face painting, music and more. This events takes a village to put on, if you are able to donate 45 minutes to help it is greatly appreciated, volunteers can sign up here. Please RSVP using the link below.
Fall Fest RSVP
Field Day is a fun, friendly competition that takes place in June among 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. The Blue and Gold teams spend the day completing in a variety of track and field events followed by a BBQ and some Del’s Lemonade. Parent volunteers can sign up here.
Fifth Grade Celebration
This event takes place in the HBS Courtyard immediately following the graduation ceremony. Parent volunteers are needed to set up and help events run smoothly for fifth grade families, please sign up here if you can help.

The green team works with HBS administration and faculty to support green initiatives in and around the school.
Formerly known as the Family Dance, the HBS Gala is open to all HBS students and their parents or adult of choice. The evening includes dinner, dancing, games and more. We are still looking for co-chairs for the evening. If you would like to volunteer please email Cilla Donatelli.
New families are matched with current HBS families in June of every year. Mentor families will reach out to new families over the summer and are available to answer any questions. If you would like to be a Mentor Family for an incoming family please sign up here.
Family movie night is a free event for HBS families. Children vote on their favorite G rated movie and the winner will be shown during an evening in the fall. Popcorn and water are included and nut-free concessions are available for purchase. Families who wish to attend must RSVP.

The HBSPA offers 1-2 parent socials every year. These child-free events are a fun evening to meet and catch up with old friends and new. Additional information and RSVP information can be found here.
Please note that when attending events during the school day, including HBSPA meetings, parents must park in Lot A or in the parent parking available in the carport area. Cars without permits parked in lot D may be subject to ticketing.

Join us this spring at a Pawsox game featuring the HBS Chorus singing the National Anthem. Please note if the event is rescheduled by the Pawsox due to weather tickets will be transferred to an alternative date.

A class photo is provided for everyone. Photos of your child must be ordered using the online form or paper form that will be sent home approximately 2 weeks before picture day.
New, Spring 2018, Family Reading Night will be a free, fun-filled literary evening. Come support the book fair, create reading related crafts, play games, and meet different authors or illustrators. Stop & Shop
Register your Stop & Shop card and you can start earning money for HBS every time you use it! Once you register it, you will not need to do it again. Please follow these step by step directions.
The HBSPA sponsors several meetups during the summer months. These are great opportunity for new families and veteran families to meet and mingle in a fun, relaxed environment like the Hope Street Farmers Market or local splash parks.
Teacher Appreciation Week
Teacher Appreciation Week is held the first week of May. We love our teachers and have fun making this week special. We are still looking for a coordinator for the 2017-2018 school year. If you wish to volunteer during the school day please contact the office to complete the Volunteer Training and Paperwork. All volunteers who wish to attend field trips or be in the school during school hours must have a BCI and training before they will be permitted to volunteer.
HBSPA Volunteer Form
The HBSPA sponsors a Welcome Coffee on the first day of school for an hour after drop off. This is a great time to meet other parents.

Yearbooks can be purchased online using a unique code that is sent home in the spring. Yearbooks are available to students in all grades. We have very few additional yearbooks available after orders are placed, please be sure to observe all ordering deadlines to ensure your family receives one.

Families may purchase congratulatory ads for HBS students. If you are a business owner who wishes to purchase a congratulatory ad for the 5th grade or specific students, please contact us for guidelines. The HBS school code is 65858. Please observe all deadline dates as stated in materials sent home in the spring. Ads will not be included if they are submitted after final deadlines.
