It is the first time in my twenty-five-year teaching career that I have not been in the classroom. For over four years now, I have been the Assistant Director of Explorations. Although I miss being in school, I have the privilege of seeing 70+ children daily.
It has been wonderful to watch them learn, grow and develop into exceptional children. In this position, I genuinely enjoy being able to care for and getting to know each child on a personal level to share a laugh or to wipe away a tear. In years past, I have taught preschool, Kindergarten and second grade. I have degrees in early childhood education and human development and family studies with a concentration in early childhood education.
Some of my training and certificates include RIELDS (Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standards), RI Emergency Management school safety program, and non-violent crisis intervention. I am so glad to be part of such an excellent school and community!
