My name is Fatima Guerra, and I am a certified teacher working as a Teacher Associate at Henry Barnard School. I have been in this position for the past three years. As a Teacher Associate, I have the opportunity to work with all classroom teachers Kindergarten through 5th grade. I enjoy working in different classrooms, collaborating with teachers to facilitate learning and assess students’ progress. I love seeing students grow academically, socially and emotionally throughout each year. I also supervise and am responsible for the safety of every student during their lunchtime in the cafeteria as well as at carport during arrivals and dismissals.
My time at HBS began as a student teacher working with one of our second-grade teachers, Michelle Nonis. I joined Michelle’s second-grade classroom as part of a co-teaching pilot program at Rhode Island College during my student teaching semester. After graduating, I had the opportunity to work as a substitute teacher at Henry Barnard School.
I have a Masters in Teaching Elementary Education as well as a Bachelors in Psychology and a Masters in Educational Psychology. My real passion is in mathematics. My goal is to pursue a certification as a Math Coach/Interventionist.
