Giving Back: Community Building at HBS

Posted on Posted in Uncategorized

Over the past week, the HBS community has been collecting hats, scarves, gloves, and socks to give to people in need. We collected so many gifts that will help so many people! Thank you for all of your generosity!

Today, the HBS students wrapped the gifts with their buddies and made beautiful holiday cards for the recipients of the gifts. The gifts will be taken to Crossroads RI to be distributed to people in need. It was so beautiful to see our students so excited to give to others who might not have received a gift this holiday season. We wrapped 81 gifts in all and we have much more left over that we will also donate. Paul Janaway also donated baseball hats and T-shirts that we will be able to give out, too.

The students also participated in a “Giving Dance” with Ms. V. and Mr. Santo during Community Building Hour today. Using large yoga balls and buckets, the students created rhythms to the song “Happy” by Pharrell. It was so fun to watch them all dancing, tapping, and smiling together! A great reminder of how unified we are as a community!

It was a great day for Henry Barnard School community today!
