Last week during our Community Building Hour we learned about different spaces at HBS. Students matched up with their buddies and got to see different classrooms. Was it fun to see some of the fourth graders revisit their old preschool room – was everything that small?
Today we explored the buildings around us. We learned Henry Barnard is just one of the many buildings located on the campus of Rhode Island College. Students were given a notebook and asked to identify and record information about each site they visited. They needed to find the buildings compass location, the number of steps required to arrive at the position and three facts about the building. Did you know that the Student Union is 234 steps from Henry Barnard? Alternatively, there is a garden by the track? Ask your child about their buddy and what buildings they visited today. Henry Barnard School is building a community one step at a time!
