HBS students gathered in the cafeteria to hear from RIC student and veteran, Sergeant Jerome Musco. Sergeant Musco was a Military Police Officer in the Army National Guard in Iraq.
Today, under the able guidance of John Arango, the program continues to help students explore the world around them and to appreciate the technology that they use in their lives. Preschool students and K-6 pupils participate in all sorts of interesting projects, from bridge building, robotics, and agriculture, to the building of C[O.sub.2] racers, MagLev vehicles, and watercraft.

In this article, Karen Bucci describes how she incorporated her iPad with the wireless SmartScope iGO microscope and Wi-Viewer app to teach her fourth-grade class the science module “Ecosystems” by National Science Resources Center’s Science and Technology for Children (STC) (1996, 2005).
Our featured performance began with The Beat Ensemble followed by the HBS Chorus. Both groups are with students from 4th and 5th grade. The Chorus performed music from different cultures with dance moves on some songs too.
On Friday the 26th, J’ana Brooks and I handed out pink ribbons to as many teachers as we could, though sometime the following week before November we plan to hand out ribbons to the students and teachers who did not receive a ribbon yet.
During our community building hour on Friday, October 19, our students created brochures showing the many different things that make our school unique to them-the most essential people in the building!
¡Qué viva la Raza! We’re celebrating Hispanic Heritage month at HBS! On October 12, during our Friday Community Building Hour, HBS students were able to rotate through three different activities to celebrate Hispanic culture.
