A Journey Through the History of Writing With Third Graders

The aim of this article is to capture young writers’ attention by taking a journey back in time to study the evolution of written communication. Lessons begin with the markings of prehistoric people and continue to modern day technology. Teachings provide a hands-on, impressionistic, experience including a writing sample from each time period.
